- When you place a bid, you enter the maximum amount you will willing to pay for the item. The seller and other bidders will not know your maximum bid amount.

A bid increment of $0.50 is added to Kevin maximum bid of $12.00. That means that bobs current bid is now $12.50. kevin is sent an email that he has been outbid.
